Implementation of Soft Skill-Based Metacognitive Approach in Improving the Critical Thinking Skills of Pre-Service Teachers

Even though critical thinking abilities are emphasized as being essential for Pre-Service Teachers (PSTs), it has been discovered through studies that PSTs' fall short of expectations. Soft Skills-Based Metacognitive Approach is a learning approach which utilizes capability particularly in skills. This study aims to determine the Implementation Improving Critical Thinking Skills based on three categories; Analysis, Evaluation and Self-Regulation pretest posttest score. Pre-experimental research design was we used this know difference between scores respondents since method includes observing participant or group after an administered see if intervention potential impact improvement. The include twenty-one (21) first-year students, taking Bachelor Secondary Education Major Mathematics one universities Laguna. Set word problems were test students before performance. data results showed there significant score students? performances analysis, evaluation self-regulation. found using soft skills-based metacognitive effective improving students' Thus, mathematics teachers encouraged incorporate said into their set up . researchers recommend future use larger sample size validate study's findings.
